Welcome to the Three Makes Baby Preparation Course

Donor conception is a decision that impacts the rest of your life, and your clinicians want to give you the best education upfront to be sure you are fully informed. The course is designed to accompany, Three Makes Baby- How to Parent Your Donor-Conceived Child, to help you organize the complicated and bewildering emotions that arise when faced with growing your family in a way that is different than you originally planned. After seeing countless people in my office, who have made the decision to use a donor and are searching for more information on this complex issue, I knew more structure was need to prepare them. My hope is that you will feel more empowered and confident about embarking on the donor conception route to parenting.

Child-centered approach

This course is based on my child-centered approach with an abundance of compassion for intended parents. I offer the strategies and exercises designed to help you work through the most common fears and concerns about donor conception. Many couples and individuals find it helpful to take their time working through the exercises in this course. In a sense, your parenting duties have already begun. Parents learn to sacrifice and grow for their children. Only the deepest feelings of love allow us to put our child first.

In the interest of openness, this workbook is aligned with the views of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and other experts who recommend that you tell your child about their donor conception. I hope you find it encouraging to know that you can tell your child and work through any challenges with the appropriate information at hand.
